As a person of moderate means with difficult teeth, I have to say SohoSmile is the only currently operating dental office in the New York area where I feel safe and where I will go for my dental care. From the moment you contact the office, you'll find that Christina, the office administrator is one of the best, most organized, and most caring presences you've ever encountered in a medical office. She will fight with everything she has to make your dental insurance company pay their fair share of your bill. She's an incredible member of an all-star dental team.Dr John and his new colleague are the absolute best in the business. They will NEVER do unnecessary work just to make money, are highly ethical, and deeply care about all of their patients. Dr. John is an incredibly skilled dentist, as well as being beyond kind and professional. He has seen me through many tricky dental situations -- root canals, giant fillings, crowns, you name it. I usually don't rave about crowns but with SohoSmile I do! Your crown is ONE appointment, as they make the crown in the office while you wait -- no more struggling with a temp crown that could pop off at any moment for two weeks while the dental lab is making it and then you have to miss more work to go back to the dentist -- not at SohoSmile, it's one visit: done! Such a relief!Finally, be prepared for the best dental cleaning of your life. 😃 SohoSmile's hygienist is flawless. Kind, efficient, and the most thorough and painless cleaning anyone could wish for. She is always helping me with recommendations for the correct toothbrush for my troubled teeth and the newest natural kinds of toothpaste on the market that I can seek out for my particular needs. She even dug the one sample of bubble gum flavored floured treatment out of the back of her drawer for me so I could relive my youth in the hygienist's chair.If you are looking for a dental office that will care for you like a wonderful loving family, go here. BEST experience everrr!! Most thorough cleaning I have ever received. Everyone in the office was so pleasant. I especially loved how thorough the hygienist named Kayla is. Dr. John is very professional and very thorough with his exams. He explaining all the treatment options and made sure i understood everything . Cannot wait to go back for my cleaning and checkup.

i) overcharged me and my husband by hundreds of dollars caliming dental insurance was issuing smaller amount. Then we cross-checked per chance and caught a discrepancy. SohoSmile agreed to issue a correction, I am *still waiting* for the "check in the mail" weeks later! Cristina has good PR, my first impression was that she is very capable, but it seems they have a clientele for whom $400 plus is no big deal, and hence they can get away with being so cavalier and unprofessional with patient accounts. I have been following up on the 'check in the mail' since weeks now. SohoSmile has refused to reimburse the credit card account that they originally overbilled!ii) Awful and painful crown fitting since dentist, Dr. John, decided to use less anesthetic during the procedure without even discussing it or explaining it. Then got cranky with me when I called out his failings!

Its very hard to give a great review to a Dentist. Nobody likes going to the dentist. Especially me. I am the worst patient. I have TMJ which makes it very diifcult for a Dentist to work when I need to take a break every 5 min. Dr. John was patient and did an amazing job to make me feel comfortable. All the hygenists/assistants get on my case about flossing etc...but they are usually right and always keep my smile looking fresh. Last but not least, Cristina at the front desk called after my last visit to make sure I was ok and taking my meds. What a team!I highly recommend Dr. John and the Soho smile team.

My visits are quick and painless, appts are kept on time, im never sitting in waiting room (although it is a cozy one). As for my cleanings, the hygienist is super thorough and gentle. I was faced with an emergency dental requirement which Soho Smile accommodated on short notice last week.
